Eligibility and Clinic Access 

ELIGIBILITY
All Tufts Health Plan employees, temporary staff, contractors, and the Board of Directors are eligible to use the BeWell Center Onsite Clinic. 

BeWell Center Onsite Clinic services are provided for eligible Tufts Health Plan personnel only. These services are not available to your spouse, children, or other relatives or dependents.

WHEN COVERAGE BEGINS
BeWell Center Onsite Clinic coverage begins: 

  • as of the first day of work for Tufts Health Plan employees, temporary staff, and the Board of Directors; or
  • the first time working onsite for contractors. 

USING THE CLINIC
To receive care at the BeWell Center Onsite Clinic, you must show your: 

  • Tufts Health Plan ID Badge; and
  • medical insurance card. 

The BeWell Center Onsite Clinic is located off the North Lobby in the Watertown location. 

The clinic’s hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

The clinic is equipped to provide basic emergency response services only. See the Emergency Care section in the BeWell Center Onsite Clinic section of the Company intranet for additional information concerning medical emergencies.

PAYING FOR CLINIC SERVICES
When payment is required for BeWell Center Onsite Clinic services, cash or credit card is the only acceptable form of payment. 

As the following chart shows, the amount you pay for clinic services depends on your employee status and health insurance coverage: 

Employee Status/Insurance Coverage Out-of-Pocket Cost
Tufts Health Plan employees who are covered by a medical plan Clinic services are provided at no cost to covered employee as long as the services are covered under their medical plan. You will be responsible for paying any additional cost not paid by your insurance carrier 
Tufts Health Plan employees with no medical insurance coverage Full cost must be paid at time of service
Contractors Full cost must be paid at time of service

PRIVACY OF HEALTH INFORMATION
All member level information regarding BeWell Center Onsite Clinic services will remain completely confidential between Take Care Health Systems and the member. The clinic also complies with government regulations concerning patient privacy (see below). 

Tufts Health Plan will receive aggregate data only on a periodic basis. This data will be used to create communication for the clinic as well as future programming. 

HIPAA Privacy Rights
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) prohibits the unauthorized use or dissemination of your medical records by the Company, plan administrators, insurance companies, or health care providers. 

Under the HIPAA regulations, your personal medical records may be used for health purposes only. This means that:

  • Your medical records may not be used by the Company for employment, personnel, or other non-health related reasons without your written consent;
  • Your medical records may not be disclosed without your written consent (except to the extent required by physicians and other health care providers to provide treatment);
  • You have the right to inspect your own health care information, and request changes if you believe the information is inaccurate; and
  • You have the right to restrict the use and disclosure of your own health care information. 

Privacy of Genetic Information
The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA) prohibits the unauthorized use or dissemination of genetic information (including results from or information about genetic tests or services) by the Company, plan administrators, insurance companies, or health care providers. 

Under GINA, your genetic information may be disclosed only if you consent to this disclosure in writing.

CLINIC ADMINISTRATION
Tufts Associated Health Plans, Inc. is the official Plan Administrator and Claim Administrator for the BeWell Center Onsite Clinic. Tufts Associated Health Plans, Inc. is also responsible for the non-clinical aspects of the clinic’s day-to-day operation.
