Welcome to the Tufts Health Plan Employee Summary Plan Description site! 

This online SPD provides an explanation of the benefits available to you as of January 1, 2021. Tufts Health Plan believes in rewarding its employees by offering a Total Rewards program that includes competitive compensation and a full spectrum of benefit options that meet the needs of a diverse workforce. Tufts Health Plan retains the right to make changes in benefits from time to time. If changes are made, we will make every effort to keep you informed as these changes occur.

The online SPD is a convenient, easy-to-use reference tool that you can access from work or home. Within these pages you’ll find detailed information on your eligibility rights under your benefit plans and how your benefit plans work, including answers to the questions: "What benefits are covered under the plan?" or "How do I make changes to my benefits?" or "Who do I contact with questions?" and many more.

We encourage you to take time to read this SPD carefully so you will have the information you need to make the most of your benefits package. The full facts and details concerning the operation of these plans are contained in official plan documents, which are on file with the Human Resources department. In the event of any conflict between this online SPD and the official plan documents, the plan documents will always govern. The official plan documents will also govern over any conflicting oral representations concerning the benefits provided under these plans.
